But for the good of the church, Can. Ssimbwa dropped interest in the case and withdrew it from court, after the main respondent expressed remorse and exposed those who advised him to forward the evil plot against the man of God.
A runner-up in the race to identify the Church of Uganda bishop for West Buganda Diocese who was disqualified on allegations of having fathered a child outside biblical Christian wedlock, has withdrawn the case he had filed against believers for allegedly slandering him.
Rev. Can Patrick Ssimbwa who is the Archdeacon of Sembabule Archdeaconry in Masaka, West Buganda Diocese, filed the case in Sembabule court against followers led by one Jonan Bangirana Jjumba who wrote a letter against him to that effect.
Jjumba was arrested and he allegedly admitted that the whole issue was a frame up against Can. Ssimbwa calculated to portray him as being ineligible for occupying the post of bishop, and in effect give his opponent an upper hand.
