Bp. Lwandasa implored parents to guide their children against being taken up by partisan political divisions and rifts, and instead devote their time to profitable jobs and studying, so as to be valuable citizens later on life.

As Ugandans head to the general elections next week on Thursday, January 15, Bishop Dr. Samuel Lwandasa, the chairman of Greater Mukono Inter Faith Forum, has called on them to manage their emotions and avoid violent reactions over political differences, warning that it may lead to social misconduct and bloodshed.

Lwandasa, who is also the chairman of Greater Mukono Love, Peace and Unity Pastors’ Destiny Forum, made the appeal while conducting around an eight-man team of missionaries from the S. Korean based Holy Fire Ministries currently on a five-day evangelization mission to youths of Mt. Lebanon Christian Centre Ministries, overseen by Dr. Lwandasa.

The team led by the President of the Holy Fire ministries, Bishop Dr. Yong Doo Kim and his wife Pastor Hyunja Kang, was on a mission to train church youths on basic requirements for becoming self-sustaining and economically independent by setting up income generating activities, and embracing mind set change reflecting commitment to serve the Lord.

Addressing followers at Kanikwa-Nammere Mt. Lebanon Church in Kyampisi sub-county, Bp. Lwandasa implored parents to guide their children against being taken up by partisan political divisions and rifts, and instead devote their time to profitable jobs and studying, so as to be valuable citizens later on life.

Dr. Yong Doo Kim appealed to youths to take advantage of their natural vigour and energy and engage in profitable work, invest for their future families and strive to found families after setting up reliable backgrounds to sustain the families.

He reminded them that over dependence on alms and handouts is one way of entering a lifestyle of slavery, as they will always look to someone to provide even for the smallest requirements in life.

Lutaaya Paul, a minister at Mt. Lebanon Christian Centre Cathedral explained the essence of the holy fire mentality, saying it signifies the spiritual desire and yearning for doing things the Christian way, loving and depending on Jesus for financial spirit and strength.

He noted that after fully embracing the holy fire spirit, youths develop acceptable morals, decent dress codes, desist from temptation to do wrong and gradually grow up as God loving citizens.

And Pr. Joseph Kim, one of the preachers that travelled with the Korean team, asked believers especially youths to discard the erroneous thinking that God is too far away in heaven to answer the calls of multitudes of his people, and explained that God the omniscient knows all His creations by his finger tips, and understands better every individual’s needs than do fellow humans.

“God is so close to us that He will immediately respond to our prayers wherever and whenever we call on Him earnestly and with faith”, Pr. Kim noted.
