Looking ahead, Agenrwot hopes to pursue Medicine and General Surgery at Makerere University, with the long-term ambition of becoming a neurosurgeon and earning a PhD at a young age.
Seeta High School Mbalala Campus in Mukono District is celebrating an extraordinary academic milestone after one of its brightest students, Fortunate Agenrwot, achieved the maximum 20 points in the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) examinations.
Agenrwot stood out among the school’s top performers, excelling in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Subsidiary Mathematics. Her perfect A-Level score crowns a remarkable academic journey that has consistently placed her among the best students in the country.
Her outstanding A-Level performance builds on an already exceptional record. At O-Level, Agenrwot scored ten distinctions in ten subjects at the same school, emerging as the best candidate nationwide. Even earlier, she had demonstrated her academic brilliance by scoring aggregate six in the Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) at Gulu Bethel Primary School.
The daughter of Martin Ojala Mapenduzi and Grace Namwaha attributes her continued excellence to the supportive learning environment she found at Seeta High School Mukono.
“The teachers cared about the smallest details. It felt like it was their personal mission to ensure we brought out the best in ourselves. I also had the best mentor, Joshua Tumwine, our Director of Studies, who played a fatherly role at school. My class teachers and friends also ensured we always lifted each other up,” Agenrwot said.
Looking ahead, Agenrwot hopes to pursue Medicine and General Surgery at Makerere University, with the long-term ambition of becoming a neurosurgeon and earning a PhD at a young age.
She was among the 27 candidates from the school who attained the top score of 20 points in the 2025 UACE examinations. Among them was Ethel Jemimah Aluo, who studied Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and ICT and also scored 20 points. Aluo plans to join Makerere University, offer Medicine and become Orthopedic doctor. She credits group discussions for strengthening her understanding.
“Group discussions helped me because I did not want to keep information to myself only to later discover it was wrong,” she said.
Another high achiever, Kate Kayanja, who offered Physics, Economics, Mathematics and ICT, also scored 20 points and intends to pursue Civil Engineering at Makerere University.
A son of Gen. Elly and Annet Kayanja of Mutundwe, he said: “I revised consistently, trusted in God and refused to give up.”
Other top scorers included Pius Sseremba and Alice Jovia Nasira. Nasira, who studied Mathematics, Economics, Art, ICT and IGP, also earned 20 points and plans to study Architecture at Kyambogo University. She had earlier scored 18 points in eight subjects at O-Level from Seeta High School A-Level Campus.
Speaking during the school’s Friday afternoon assembly, headteacher Boniface Ssebukalu revealed the scale of the achievement. Out of 308 candidates who sat the UACE examinations last year, 27 scored the maximum 20 points.
He added that 32 students scored 19 points, 44 obtained 18 points, 39 secured 17 points, and 45 got 16 points, reflecting strong academic performance across both Arts and Science combinations.
For the school community, however, Agenrwot’s academic journey—from top national performance at O-Level to a perfect A-Level score—stands as a powerful example of discipline, mentorship and sustained excellence.
