Police in Mukono District have taken into custody two men in connection with alleged electricity vandalism and impersonation. The suspects have been identified as Kakooza Paul, 24, and Tenywa Bernley, 32, both working as electricians.
According to authorities, the incident occurred in Kasai, Mukono District, where the suspects allegedly entered Emeralt Primary School dressed in Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited (UEDCL) uniforms, claiming to be taking meter readings. Investigations suggest they climbed an electric pole and removed cables supplying electricity to the school, despite lacking official identification or work authorization.

Police reports indicate that the men were traveling on a Bajaj Boxer motorcycle, registration number UFR 408P, which they had painted blue to mimic official UEDCL vehicles.
The suspects are currently being held in police custody as investigations continue, pending prosecution. Authorities have warned the public to be vigilant against individuals impersonating utility workers.
