Police in Mukono district are holding a 30-year-old man suspected of murdering his former girlfriend when he acted under intense and uncontrollable anger leading to mutilating her body by cutting out her tongue before dumping it.

The suspect, identified as Charles Ochedde, a resident of Katosi landing site in Katosi Town Council, Mukono District, was apprehended following a tip-off from a friend who reportedly spotted him in the area. He is accused of killing his former girlfriend, Rachael Nakyeyune (32), in October 2024 at Gulama in Buikwe District.

According to police, Ochedde and Nakyeyune had been in a relationship that later turned sour. On the day of the incident, a disagreement reportedly escalated after Nakyeyune declined to publicly introduce Ochedde as her love partner—an act he allegedly said angered him.
