A fatal plane crash has claimed the lives of all 14 people on board, including 13 passengers and the pilot, authorities in South Sudan confirmed in an official statement.

“There were 13 passengers and one pilot on board. Unfortunately, there were no survivors,” the statement by the South Sudan Civil Aviation Authority said.

Preliminary findings indicate that adverse weather conditions, particularly low visibility, may have played a role in the accident, though officials emphasized that the investigation remains ongoing and no definitive cause has been established.

Emergency response teams were quickly deployed to the crash site to assist with recovery operations and gather critical information. Authorities confirmed that a specialized response unit had been sent to support both emergency and investigative efforts.

“The response team has been dispatched to the site to gather information and support emergency and recovery efforts,” the statement added.

The aviation regulator extended condolences to the families of those affected, describing the incident as a tragedy and pledging to provide updates as more verified details emerge.l

Investigations into the exact cause of the crash are continuing.
