Makerere University has formally handed over the Office of the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration to newly appointed Prof. Henry Alinaitwe.
The handover ceremony, witnessed by members of top management, was led by Acting Vice Chancellor Prof. Sarah Ssali. The office was transferred from Acting Deputy Vice Chancellor Prof. Helen Nambalirwa Nkabala, who had been serving on behalf of Prof. Winston Tumps Ireeta.
During the transition, several achievements registered under the outgoing leadership were highlighted. These included improved revenue collection from campus parking management, stronger implementation of the staff housing policy, enhanced campus security and surveillance systems, and better coordination of grants administration, management, and support.

The university also reported growth in the operations of Makerere University Holdings Company, reflecting efforts to strengthen institutional sustainability.
In his acceptance remarks, Prof. Alinaitwe expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and acknowledged the progress made by his predecessors. He pledged to work closely with stakeholders to build on the gains and further advance the university’s financial and administrative agenda.
