Police in Mukono District are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a woman believed to be deaf or unable to speak, who was found with two young children at Katoogo Trading Centre.
The woman, who had no identification documents, was found on Monday, August 31, 2026, at about 9:00 p.m. by residents who noticed her carrying luggage while in the company of the two children, estimated to be about five months and three years old.
According to police, the woman was unable to communicate where she had come from or where she was headed.

Concerned residents subsequently took the woman and the children to Nama Police Station, where they were received for assistance as efforts to establish their identities and trace their relatives continue.
Police are now appealing to members of the public who may recognise the woman or the children, or have any information about their relatives or place of origin, to come forward.
Anyone with information is requested to report to Nama Police Station or the nearest police station to help reunite the woman and the children with their family.
