Vatican City, May 14, 2026 — Pope Leo XIV has appointed His Excellency Most Rev. Tomasz Grysa, Titular Archbishop of Rubicon, as the new Apostolic Nuncio to Uganda. Archbishop Grysa succeeds Archbishop Luigi Bianco, who began his tenure in Uganda on April 18, 2019.

The Apostolic Nuncio serves as the Holy See’s diplomatic representative and liaison with the Catholic Church in the host country. Archbishop Grysa’s appointment underscores the Vatican’s ongoing commitment to strengthening its relations with Uganda, a nation with a growing Catholic population.
