“She lived long enough to witness generations rise, families grow, and the world transform before her eyes. Through it all, she remained a loving presence, a keeper of stories, and a living bridge between the past and the future,” he said.

According to the celebrated rapper, spending time with his grandmother was like “sitting with history itself,” as she embodied a rich legacy of family traditions, life experiences, and wisdom passed down through generations.

While expressing grief over her passing, Zamba said the family was also celebrating a life well lived.

“While we mourn her passing, we also celebrate a life fully lived — a life marked by resilience, wisdom, faith, and joy. She inspired many through her strength of spirit and her unwavering enthusiasm for life,” he wrote.

Zamba recalled that at the age of 105, his grandmother requested a participation kit for the annual Kabaka Birthday Run. Although the family initially smiled at the unusual request, they were left amazed by what followed.
