Kampala, Uganda – The Minister in Charge of the Presidency, Babirye Milly Babalanda, has dismissed as fake and malicious a list circulating on various media and social media platforms claiming to announce a reshuffle of Resident District Commissioners (RDCs), Resident City Commissioners (RCCs), their deputies, and assistants.

In a public statement issued on Saturday, the minister said her office had noted with concern the circulation of the purported reshuffle list, which falsely claims to have been issued by President Yoweri Museveni.

“The Office wishes to inform the general public, all RDC/RCCs, Deputies, Assistants and all stakeholders that the list trending is fake, malicious, and has not been issued or authorized by H.E. the President of the Republic of Uganda,” the statement reads.

Babalanda emphasized that no reshuffle has been carried out and that the President has neither appointed nor transferred any RDCs at this time.

She reiterated that the appointment and transfer of RDCs remain the constitutional prerogative of the President, in accordance with Article 203 of the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda.

The minister urged members of the public, government officials, and all stakeholders to disregard the circulating list, describing it as the work of individuals seeking to create confusion, anxiety, and disaffection among public officers and citizens.

She called on the public to rely only on official government communication channels for accurate information regarding appointments and transfers within the RDC and RCC structures.
