Murungi and Britney are said to have died on spot together with the unidentified bodaboda rider at Bweyogerere when they were traveling from UCU main campus heading to Kampala for a party on Thursday evening.

And in a related development, Apio Consolate, one of the students who were expected to graduate today at the university, died in the mass killer accident at Kiryandongo district which claimed 46 lives and involved a number of vehicles.

In a memo issued earlier on Friday by the Guild Government of UCU, signed by the Guild President Samantha Akakunda Mwesigye, their fellow students died instantly on Thursday evening when a taxi trying to overtake another vehicle rammed into the motorcycle carrying them, leading to their death along with the cyclist.

The Archbishop Kaziimba appealed to the road users to respect each other while on the road saying it is the only way accidents which have claimed thousands of Ugandans will be minimized.

Salone Nakitto, a fellow student and close friend of Murungi, one of the deceased students said that the deceased (Murungi) started the day by preparing to go to a party in Kampala, and in the evening, picked Britney, embarking on their journey.

However, as hard luck would have it, according to Nakitto, at around 9:00pm they received a telephone message from some unidentified caller who broke the sad news of the duo’s death.
