A young Ugandan football enthusiast whose inspiring story of being carried by former U.S. President Bill Clinton as a baby has taken a major step toward achieving his dream of becoming a football coach after receiving support from the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA).
Clinton, who recently attracted widespread attention after sharing how he was carried by former U.S. President Bill Clinton during the latter’s visit to Uganda in March 1998, had also revealed his long-standing ambition of training as a football coach and his hope of reconnecting with the former American leader.

Clinton has since shared photos of himself attending coaching classes and participating in practical sessions on the football pitch, marking an important milestone in his journey toward becoming a qualified coach.
The development has been widely welcomed as an example of how sharing personal stories can open doors to life-changing opportunities.
“Thank you FUFA for enabling the young man live his dream. Dreams are valid. #KeepHopeAlive,” said Julius Mucunguzi, the Electoral Commission spokesperson who share a post on his X handle giving an update on Clinton’s progress.
The initiative highlights FUFA’s commitment to nurturing football talent beyond the playing field by supporting aspiring coaches, while also serving as an inspiration to young Ugandans pursuing careers in sport.
