Court in Mpigi district has today convicted a man who owns a motor vehicle that caused an accident that left people dead for failure to present the person who was driving it.Â
Godfrey Mukasa, the owner of the motor vehicle registration number UBM 489B that caused an accident and killed people on December 26, 2022 appeared before Mpigi Grade One Magistrate Fatuma Nabirye.
Nabirye read to Mukasa the charges of failure to present a driver who was driving the motor vehicle registration number UBM 489B that killed people in an accident.
Mukasa pleaded guilty and therefore, the magistrate convicted him upon his own plea of guilt.
The magistrate sentenced Mukasa to six month in prison or to pay a fine of sh300,000. Mukasa however decided to pay the sh300,000 than serving the six months sentence.
