The Police in Kaabong district are holding a gunman who allegedly shot dead a schools headteacher together with his wife.
The suspect, identified as Loumwa Lomol, a resident of Kaabong district, was arrested by the Anti Stock Theft Unit (ASTU).
According to Police report, Lomol participated in the killing of the headteacher of Narube Primary School and his wife the previous day.
Police further reveals that Lomol when he was interrogated upon his arrest, revealed that he committed the offence along with a UPDF deserter identified as Lioki Lokiding.
Police have confirmed that Lomol led to the recovery of the gun he used in the double murder incident.

On 29 August 2024, at around 17:00hrs, our Anti Stock Theft Unit (ASTU) received intelligence about a wanted warrior named Loumwa Lomol, who was reportedly drinking at Kamacharikol center in Kaabong District.
Following this information, the officers arrested him, and during interrogation, he disclosed the location of his firearm.
The officers then proceeded to Moru-Ngikamar village in Lobatou parish, where they recovered a rifle containing 28 rounds of ammunition.
Further questioning revealed that Lomol, along with a UPDF deserter named Lioki Lokiding, was involved in the shooting deaths of the head teacher and his wife at Narube primary school the previous day. They targeted the head teacher to prevent him from testifying against Lokiding’s brother, who is imprisoned for stealing food from the school. The couple was killed using two bullets from Lomol’s gun.
