Hundreds of Christians from across Mukono Diocese and beyond today thronged St. Phillip and Andrew’s Cathedral in Mukono for a double celebration honoring the Rt. Rev. Enos Kitto and his wife, Catherine Kagodo.
The faithful, joined by religious and political leaders, gathered to celebrate the couple’s 30 years of marriage and Bishop Kagodo’s three years of dedicated service as the Bishop of Mukono Diocese.

The cathedral was filled with joy, praise, and thanksgiving as choirs led hymns of gratitude for the milestone achievements.
The thanksgiving service is presided over by the Archbishop of the Province of the Church of Uganda, The Most Rev. Dr. Stephen Kazimba Mugalu. In a symbolic and heartfelt moment, Archbishop Kazimba led Bishop Kagodo and Mama Catherine to renew their marriage vows before the congregation, prompting loud ululations and applause from the congregation.

In his sermon, Archbishop Kazimba commended the couple for their steadfast commitment to God, family, and ministry, urging leaders to uphold faithfulness and integrity both in marriage and in service to the Church.
Among the clergy present was the Bishop of Luweero Diocese, Rt. Rev. Wilson Kisekka, alongside several retired bishops including Rt. Rev. James William Ssebaggala of Mukono Diocese, Rt. Rev. Jackson Matovu of Central Buganda Diocese, Rt. Rev. Elia Paul Luzinda Kizito of Mukono Diocese, Rt. Rev. Henry Katumba Tamale of West Buganda Diocese, and Rt. Rev. Hannington Mutebi of Kampala Diocese.

The celebration also attracted a number of dignitaries. These included the Deputy Katikkiro of Buganda, Owek. Robert Wagwa Nsibirwa; Kyaggwe County Head, Ssekiboobo Matovu Bintubizibu, Uganda Christian University (UCU) Vice Chancellor, Assoc. Prof. Aaron Mushengyezi; Member of Parliament-elect for Nansana Municipality, Zambaali Bulasio Mukasa; and Mukono District Woman MP, Sheilah Draville Amaniyo, among others.

Speakers whom Kyaggwe TV interviewed described Bishop Kitto’s three-year episcopal journey as impactful, marked by spiritual growth, unity, and development within the diocese. Many praised Mama Catherine for her unwavering support throughout their three decades of marriage and ministry.
The day’s celebrations involved lots of prayers, songs of thanksgiving, and a festive reception, as Christians expressed gratitude for the couple’s enduring love and faithful service to God and the Church.
