A 20-year-old housemaid, Sharifah Lwantale, has revealed how she survived the murderer of her boss, Pamela Tumwebaze, the Dean of Students Affairs at Uganda Christian University (UCU) Mukono. The attacker, dressed in Tumwebaze’s clothes and wig, confronted Lwantale, who managed to survive him without harm.

Tumwebaze (46), a resident of Ggwafu West in Seeta, Goma division in Mukono Municipality was strangled to death on Wednesday, February 11, 2026. According to police, the motive and identity of the assailant remain unknown.

Lwantale recounted the terrifying ordeal to security officials, saying the attacker asked for the keys of the main door, and she handed them over after he threatened her.

“He asked me for the keys for the main door but I told him I was not ready to give them to him, given the fact that I did not know him. He however told me to go and ask my boss whether she didn’t know him. I walked towards her bedroom but from a distance, I saw her lying on a bed with clothes packed on her,” she revealed.

“I was shocked, and didn’t move any further, I walked back together with the assailant following me, I had no option but to give him the keys, opened the door and he disappeared,” the shocked maid appallingly narrated.

According to the LC1 chairperson, the housemaid had just joined Pamela’s home. It is alleged that the assailant packed a few things from Pamela’s bedroom which he carried in her laptop bag, the deceased’s mobile phone inclusive.

According to KMP spokesperson Racheal Kawala, Pamela came back home together with her two sons, Elijah and Noah, aged 10 and 13 years respectively, at around 10:00pm, ate food and went to their different bedrooms.

“At around 2:00am, the unknown assailant gained entry into her house and strangled her. She was rushed to Mukono Church of Uganda Hospital where she was pronounced dead,” she said.

Police have opened a file case number, MUKONO CRB: 195/2026 as the investigations commenced. On Wednesday, security personnel condoned the crime scene and refused people to access it.
