The Police in Naggalama Division in Mukono district are investigating circumstances under which a serious confrontation between the local people and a group of youths from Kampala resulted in the death of five people.

Patrick Onyango, the Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson said that a mob attack which occurred on August 29, 2025, at around 3:00am in Namanoga village, Seeta Namuganga sub-county, Mukono District resulted in the deaths of five individuals.

“According to reports, a group of youths from Kampala had traveled to Namanoga for a music show at Lions Bar. However, their unbearable actions which included the use of fake notes and pickpocketing, allegedly angered the local villagers,” Onyango reported on Friday.

He added that the Kampala youths’ actions led to a violent confrontation, resulting in the deaths of the youths and the destruction of the taxi registration number UBD 326X which they had traveled in.

“The police have recorded statements from survivors and witnesses and have conveyed the bodies of the deceased to Kayunga Hospital Mortuary for post-mortem examinations,” he said, adding;

“The burnt-out vehicle has been secured, and investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.”
