Five men who pleaded guilty to the offence of shooting dead a security guard, robbing Banxell Forex Bureau along Kabuusu Road in Lubaga Division and taking the security guard’s gun number SAR-UG PSO 54000868124 with nine rounds of ammunition, have been sentenced to life imprisonment in the general court martial at Makindye.
They were charged together with two other suspects including an officer of the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) identified as Maureen Peace Nabukeera, a lover of one of the accused called Oman Aula alias Aula Kasaija, and a UPDF soldier Pte Musa Gabala, both of whom denied the charges.

Those jailed include Hussein Ssebuuma alias Obote aged 26, a resident of Kawaala Cell, Sulaiman Jjuuko alias Golola, 42, of Kasubi zone, David Ddumba, a casual labourer of Kasubi, Oman Aula alias Aula Kasaija, and Edison Mpasweiman alias Mugisha, all of whom pleaded guilty to charges of robbery and murder.
Prosecution stated that on March 19, 2024 using an SMG gun No. 48015840 belonging to the UPDF, attacked Banxell Forex Bureau and shot dead Peter Agama, a security guard working with Wolves Security Company, and took his gun with them.
It was further alleged that Nabukeera, Ssebuuma and Ddumba designed the plan for the attack, Aula pulled the trigger to release the bullet that killed Agama while Gabala provided the gun used.
Sentencing the convicts, court martial chairperson, Gen. Freeman Mugabe lamented that capital offences of such a nature are on the increase, and that giving deterrent punishments could serve as a solution.
But the court considered the six months they have spent on remand, and advised them to exercise their right of appeal in fourteen days.
