Awarding the degrees, Prof. Ngozi said the college is committed to theological research and research particularly in the area of sustained revival across the world.
In his own words, Mukono Born-Again Pastor, Bishop Samuel Lwandasa confessed that he could not believe his eyes when he received a communication declaring him as one of the 32 Ugandans to be awarded an honorary degree of Divinity by an American university, more so alongside dignitaries including the speaker of parliament, NRM high level officials, parliamentarians and other religious leaders.
The African campus of the American Zoe Life Theological College in Philadelphia on April 18, 2025 in a colourful ceremony awarded honorary humanities and Theology PhD degrees to 32 Ugandans at the Kampala Sheraton Hotel, at a function where the Chancellor of the University’s African Campus Prof. Ngozi Richard represented its founder Prof. Ambrose J. Mulaer at the awarding ceremony.
Among beneficiaries were Parliamentary Speaker Anita Annet Among, East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) legislator, Dr. Gerard Siranda, retired Anglican Bishop John Baptist Odama, born-again pastors Bishop Samuel Lwandasa, Prof. Samuel Mwesige, Pr. Tom Mugerwa and Pr. Robinson Masembe, Eastern Region NRM Vice President Capt. Mike Mukula, Rtd. Brig. Gen. Rwashande Emmanuel, and UPDF Chief of Defence Intelligence Maj. Gen. James Birungi.
Awarding the degrees, Prof. Ngozi said the college is committed to theological research and research particularly in the area of sustained revival across the world. As a college he said, Zoe is devoted to identifying, equipping and celebrating anointed marketplace leaders, basing on unbiased judgement.
He however reminded the awardees that this achievement should only serve to incite their potential for more exploits for the benefit of God’s creation.
In his Easter Day message to followers during his homily, quoted psalm 110 in the bible which advises followers to sit at God’s right hand till their enemies are put under their feet. “2026 is here with all its programmes but come rain come sunshine, if you stay under God’s right hand things will move with clockwork precision.
Bp. Lwandasa’s wife Pr. Margaret Naggayi Lwandasa was excited that her husband has risen from a houseboy to a PhD holder, which she added, is testimony that God will always give you what you pray for if you stick to his directives.

“As a ministry and as a family, we have gone through a lot of challenges and we know this achievement is not coming on a silver platter”, Pr. Margaret said.
Among his numerous exploits, Lwandasa is the vision bearer for the Pentecostal Forum for Born Again Churches in Greater Mukono, the founder for Mukono Inter-Faith Forum, a member of Mukono Municipality Development Forum, and founder of the Love, Peace and Unity Pastors’ Destiny Forum for Mukono, Kayunga, Buvuma and Buikwe districts.
He is also the founder and leader of Mt. Lebanon Christian Centre Churches in Eastern Africa. He is married with three daughters and a son.
