Robert Migadde Ndugwa lifted Buvuma NRM primaries elections with 22,454 votes against the petitioner Adrian Wasswa Ddungu’s 6,262, and according to a verdict by the NRM legal team, the wide range of 16,162 votes could not be massively reversed by whatever standards of rerun or recount as prayed by the petitioner.
The two were summoned by the tribunal and each gave a word-by-word account of what transpired, in the petition, Ddungu claimed that Migadde employed a lot of vote rigging, voter bribery and influencing voting for him (Migadde) even by voters whose names did not appear in the register.
He also charged the MP with using security personnel headed by the Deputy Resident District Commissioner, Patrick Mubiru to intimidate and torture his voters, and prayed for nullification of Migadde’s victory.

However, the tribunal dismissed the petition and upheld Migadde’s election. The ruling was signed by a team headed by Martin Mbanza Kalemera, and included signatures of Kenneth Kipalu and Deborah Nshemereirwe.
They also concurred that the allegation that Migadde used security personnel was inadequately backed with proof and so was also rejected.
Meanwhile, in Sembabule, the tribunal dismissed the petition filed by Theodore Ssekikubo against Birg. Gen (Rtd) Emmanuel Rwashande claiming vote rigging in the primary elections for Lwemiyaga member of parliament.
The ruling was handed to one of Rwashande’s campaigners Robert Nasasira who confirmed that Rwashande beat Ssekikubo with over 10,000 votes. Rwashande maintained that his victory was the decision of Lwemiyaga voters, and warned Ssekikubo that even if he stands as an individual, he would still beat him.
