A knife was recovered from the murder scene and the suspect was arrested and detained at Mukono Central Police Station.
Kampala Metropolitan Police (KMP) spokesperson Patrick Onyango has confirmed the arrest of a 26-year-old man who brutally murdered a 35-year-old Mukono businesswoman over the sh18m loan disagreement.
Elvis Katabazi (26), was arrested after allegedly killing 35-year old Hamidah Mutesi Nalule, a Mukono businesswoman, whom he allegedly owed sh18m.
The murder in which Katabazi is suspected to have stabbed Nalule, occurred at Namuyenje village in Nakisunga sub-county, Mukono district on Wednesday evening.
Katabazi is said to have mortgaged his house to procure the sh18m loan from Nalule. A misunderstanding is said to have erupted between the two whereupon they resolved to proceed to the LC chairman to intervene and amicably settle their misunderstanding.

They drove in the deceased’s car, a TOYOTA Fielder registration number UBR 759V and on the way, they branched off the main road where he is suspected to have pulled out a knife and slit her throat. Police responded fast enough and apprehended the accused.
