Police Arrest Three Vumbula Uganda Event Organizers for Failure to Pay Service Providers

Police in Njeru Municipality are holding three event organizers of the three-day Vumbula Uganda event for failure to pay the service providers. 

Hellen Butoto, the Ssezibwa Region Police Commander has confirmed the arrest of three event organizers of Vumbula Uganda.

Butoto has however declined to name the suspects who are currently detained at Njeru Police Station.

She said that a number of service providers including the manager of Nile Nest Resort, members of the Uganda Bouncers Association (UBA), among others are demanding for millions of money from the suspects.

Jimmy Evans Kayizzi, one of the service providers confirmed that a number of them were not cleared by the organizers for the services they rendered during the three days of the event.

Kayizzi said that the over 1500 revelers paid sh100,000 for the three days they spent at Nile Nest Resort at Bujowaali Cell in Njeru Municipality. The event is said to have started on May 31 and ended on June 3, 2024.

Joanita Nalumu, the venue manager said that Vumbula Uganda event organizers ended at paying the deposit for the venue and refused to clear the balance on the second day of the event as per their agreement.
