Police in Mbarara City have launched investigations into the circumstances surrounding the death of Jackline Tumwebaze, a student at University of St. Joseph.
Tumwebaze was pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance at the university.
According to preliminary information, the student was allegedly killed by unknown individuals. Her body was discovered locked inside her room in Katete, a suburb of Mbarara.
Police and local leaders were alerted, prompting authorities to respond to the scene and recover the body.

The deceased’s body was later transported to Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital, where it is currently awaiting a postmortem examination to establish the exact cause of death.
