A court in the United Kingdom has sentenced convicted serial sex offender Simon Levy to spend the remainder of his life behind bars after finding him guilty of murdering two women and raping another survivor in a series of violent attacks that shocked the country.
Levy, 40, received two whole-life prison orders from the Old Bailey in London on Wednesday for the murders of 53-year-old Carmenza Valencia-Trujillo and 39-year-old Sheryl Wilkins, both killed in 2025. He was also handed concurrent life sentences, with a minimum custodial term of 12 years, for two rape offences committed against a third victim who survived the assault.
In delivering the sentence, Judge Mark Lucraft KC said Levy’s crimes were exceptionally grave and justified a whole-life order because of their sexual nature and his long history of offending. The ruling means Levy will never be eligible for release on parole.

Court proceedings revealed that Levy had previously been convicted of sexual offences and was listed on the sex offenders register. Despite this, he had multiple encounters with police before his arrest for the murders. He was initially detained in April 2025 in connection with the killing of Valencia-Trujillo but was later released while inquiries continued. He was arrested again in September after the death of Wilkins.
The case has intensified criticism of Britain’s criminal justice system, with questions raised over why Levy remained at liberty despite his criminal background. The Metropolitan Police, British Transport Police and the Crown Prosecution Service have all acknowledged shortcomings in the way previous investigations involving Levy were handled.
Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mark Rowley described the circumstances as a “whole system failing,” while campaigners and legal observers have called for a review of decisions relating to bail, risk management and the sharing of information between agencies.
During the trial, prosecutors argued that Levy targeted vulnerable women in a string of predatory attacks throughout 2025. Evidence presented in court showed he raped the surviving victim in January before murdering Valencia-Trujillo in March and Wilkins in August.
