Geofrey Dhamuzungu claimed that Eng. Moses Magogo rigged him  victory in the primary elections for Budiope West.

Dhamuzungu claimed that there were irregularities in 113 polling centres, while Magogo who reported to the lawyers’ committee maintains that he won with 78% of the votes.

Magogo was on Sunday accompanied by his wife, the parliamentary speaker Anita Annet Among.

Brig. Emmanuel Rwashande who defeated Theodore Ssekikubo in Rwemiyaga county also appeared before the committee and was queried. While Rwashande maintains his free and fair stand, Ssekikubo said he (Rwashande) used the army to cheat.

Several ministers who appeared before the committee included State Minister for Finance, Amos Lugoloobi, State Minister for education Dr. Joyce Moriku Kaducu, State Minister for Animal Industry, Bright Rwamirama and others.

The next set of petitions to be heard is that of district chairmen, Lord Mayor, sub-county leaders and councilors, which will be handled between 7th and 8th August 2025. The head of the legal team Enock Barata said they were compelled to extend the hearing dates owing to an increase of the petitions, with 47 new ones registered, and the process is to end on August 5th 2025.

Among big shots whose names appeared on the new the list of petitions are Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja who is being charged by Ssali Harriet Tibulihwa with whom they contested for the Kakumiro woman MP seat, State Minister for Housing, Persis Namuganza who blames the Namutumba district NRM Registrar, Emmanuel Katooko Maganda for igniting the chaos in the Bukono constituency elections.

Barata said that some respondents have shunned appearing before the committee, and added that this will not bar the committee from hearing the petitions.
