He cautioned the candidates against behaviours that could distract them from their studies, including stealing, rumour-mongering, fornication, fighting, unhealthy competition and indiscipline.

Senior Four and Senior Six candidates at St. Balikuddembe Senior Secondary School Kisoga in Mukono District have been urged to remain on a Godly path as they prepare for and during the time they will be sitting their Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) papers.
The call was made by Fr. George William Ssentamu of Mpala Queen of Martyrs Parish, who urged the candidates to repent of their sins, live holy lives and draw closer to God during the examination period.
Fr. Ssentamu encouraged the candidates to mend relationships with their classmates, teachers and parents, saying forgiveness and reconciliation would help them remain focused as they prepare for their final examinations.
“Bridge the gap between your classmates and teachers, avoid doing bad to your friends, but also ask for forgiveness from those whom you have wronged, including your parents. This is the time you must get closer to your God through your guardian angel, whose role is to protect you from evil and help you overcome the challenges that come your way,” he said.

He cautioned the candidates against behaviours that could distract them from their studies, including stealing, rumour-mongering, fornication, fighting, unhealthy competition and indiscipline.
The priest also encouraged the candidates to support one another through group revision and sharing knowledge, saying cooperation would help them succeed rather than create divisions at a critical stage of their education.
Fr. Ssentamu also appealed to parents to support their children in ways that promote their education and faith, rather than exposing them to practices that could distract them.
“Keep your witchcraft away from our candidates. Don’t give them magic sticks which will just lead them into regrets. Equip them with the valuables they ask for, clear their school requirements and give them some money to take them through this period,” he cautioned.
He reminded the candidates that St. Balikuddembe Kisoga has for years performed well in national examinations and urged them not to be overwhelmed by fear.

“Put your trust in God, then do what your teachers are telling you. Avoid engaging in examination malpractices because that has never been a magic for St. Balikuddembe SS Kisoga,” he said.
The school headteacher, Lydia Lukwago Kagoya, said the teachers had played their role in preparing the candidates and expressed confidence that they would perform to the best of their ability.
Kagoya appealed to parents and relatives to avoid giving candidates information that could distract them from their preparations and examinations.
She particularly urged parents to shield the candidates from distressing news during the examination period, including information about the death of close relatives, arguing that such developments could affect their concentration at a critical time.
The 2026 UNEB Senior Four (UCE) examinations are scheduled to run from October 8 to November 3, while the Senior Six (UACE) examinations will run from November 7 to December 5, 2026.
