Kampala Metropolitan Police have arrested three additional suspects and impounded a motorcycle in an ongoing operation targeting a gang accused of using motorcycles to rob people carrying large sums of money.
The latest operation was conducted on September 28, 2026, according to Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire.
Police identified the suspects as Kawooya Bashir, Kiwo Shamiru and Nuwamanya Derrick, also known as Akiram or Mavako.
The three were arrested while travelling on a motorcycle, registration number UMA 349NF, which was also impounded.
The arrests form part of an ongoing police operation targeting a suspected motorcycle-riding gang allegedly involved in robberies targeting victims carrying substantial amounts of cash.
Police said the operation is continuing as investigators work to establish the suspects’ alleged roles and links to other members of the gang.
Owoyesigyire urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the police as the operation continues.
