The former President of Uruguay, from 2010 to 2015 Jose Mujica has lost the battle to throat cancer which he battled for a long time.
Jose Mujica is remembered for having rejected all presidential benefits including motorcades, residing in State House, and other fringe benefits enjoyed by a head of state and stayed at his farm throughout his term of office.
Among other benefits cherished by world heads of state that Mujica rejected include expensive cars, and hefty remunerations, and forfeited 90 percent of his salary to the most needy members of the Uruguayan.
