The Ugandan community in Canada is disturbed by the sad news of their fellow’s death by suicide. The deceased has been identified as Rabibah Nankinga, a woman in her early 30s who recently moved from Kawempe in Kampala to Canada in July 2023.
According to family and community members, Nankinga allegedly committed suicide after going through difficult times for some time.
It is alleged that following the circumstances under which Nankinga met her death, her relatives decided that she will be laid to rest in Canada, with the exact burial date yet to be confirmed.

In the meantime, a vigil will be held tonight at UMAC Mosque, 1945 Weston Road, Toronto, where friends, relatives, and members of the community are invited to gather in prayer and support for the bereaved family.
Patrick King, one of the concerned Ugandans said that Nankinga was seen sleeping on the subway back in July, and she didn’t seem like herself.
“She was also unreachable by someone who knows her well since August,” he reported.
