On a sad note, the Kabaka expressed concern at the increasing reports of parents whose children mysteriously go missing, with some reportedly found dead with some body parts missing in unexplained circumstances.
The Kabaka of Buganda Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II has condemned in the strongest of terms, the ongoing inhuman acts of torture characterized by flogging, blocking opposition candidates and their supporters from accessing campaign venues and others, while conducting campaign rounds countrywide.
“Most of our people have been served with different forms of mistreatment, some have been beaten yet others have been denied access to places where they were supposed to carry out their campaigns from and other forms of human rights violations,” the Kabaka said.
In a strongly worded statement issued on 2nd December 2026, Kabaka Mutebi called on the Electoral Commission not to stop at condemning the dehumanizing acts, but go ahead and exercise impartiality and fairness to all candidates.

“We condemn such violent acts because they are not only replicating backwardness but also hinder the country’s development.”
Kabaka compiled this message in his Christmas message delivered to his subjects on Tuesday, December 23, 2025.
The statement also noted that such acts reflect primitivity on the side of perpetrators, and also condemned the lavish spending by contenders, and expressed fear that should such people sail through, their priority will be engaging in corrupt ways to recover their lost fortunes.
Turning to the populace, the Kabaka noted that following the long and unforeseen long dry spell, the fear of food insecurity is looming high, and advised that storing food is the immediate answer. He also appealed to the government to extend irrigation services to people within easy reach of permanent water sources, and subsidize costs and taxes on irrigation utilities.

On a sad note, the Kabaka expressed concern at the increasing reports of parents whose children mysteriously go missing, with some reportedly found dead with some body parts missing in unexplained circumstances. He was particularly saddened to note that such incidents which were commonplace in past regimes, are steadily resurfacing.
“Machete killers are on the increase and we believe security agents should step up vigilance;, we are appealing to our people to be extra cautious in the face of such situations” the monarch observed.
