Police in Kyankwanzi District have launched investigations into the brutal murder of a married couple in Ntunda Town Council after unknown assailants raided their home in the early hours of Friday morning.
According to the Wamala Regional Police Spokesperson, SSP Lameck Kigozi, the District Police Commander received a distress call from a resident of Kizungu Cell reporting that his neighbours had been attacked and killed. A team of officers, including a scene-of-crime expert, was immediately dispatched to the area.
Preliminary findings indicate that the attackers struck at around 2:30am, breaking into the home of Sentongo Awali, 42, a peasant farmer, and his wife Doreen Ayebare. The assailants are suspected to have used a sharp weapon, believed to be a panga, to fatally injure the couple before fleeing the scene.

He urged anyone with information that could aid investigations to report to the nearest police station, assuring the public that all information would be treated with utmost confidentiality. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
