The police in Nateete are holding a 24-year-old mother who allegedly stabbed her three-year-old daughter to death over unknown reasons.
Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, Racheal Kawala has identified the suspect as Aine Shivan and the deceased as Neila Ayongeirwe.
Kawala said that the tragic incident happened at around 5:00am on Tuesday February 24, at Lusaze Zone in Lubaga division.

She said that by the time of the incident, Shivan’s husband, Dickson Bakwatanisa was away from home.
“After stabbing the baby girl to death, Shivan tried to commit suicide by stabbing herself in the neck but she was arrested before death. She is currently receiving treatment in hospital under police surveillance,” Kawala said adding; we have charged her with murder and attempted murder as the investigations into the matter have commenced.
The deceased’s body was picked from the scene of crime and delivered to Mulago City Mortuary for postmortem examination.
