City businessman Drake Lubega is the talk of the town following his lavish introduction ceremony with his partner, Maureen Namukasa Nakamanya popularly known as Momo. The function was held at her family home in Bunnamwaya, Makindye-Ssabagabo—marking a significant step in their long-standing relationship.
Lubega, known for his extensive commercial property investments in Kampala, reportedly hosted a well-attended event where he presented customary gifts to his fiancée’s family, signaling his commitment. Guests described the ceremony as elaborate, with a display of generosity that underscored Lubega’s role in organizing the function.

Family sources note that both Momo and her sister were raised in Bukalango under the guidance of the late Msgr. Expedito Magembe, a respected Catholic cleric.
Speaking briefly after the ceremony, Momo revealed that she and Lubega have been together for about ten years, having met while she was on vacation after completing Senior Six. While she declined to give details about a future wedding ceremony, she confirmed that the couple had already formalized their union through a civil marriage process.
“I will love him until Lake Victoria dries,” she said with a laugh, adding that she hopes to start a family with him soon.

Despite Lubega’s prominence in business circles, some observers noted the relatively low turnout of fellow high-profile entrepreneurs at the event.
Momo becomes the fourth officially recognized partner of Lubega. His previous relationships include marriages to Jalia Nagawa and Betina Lubega, both of which ended in legal disputes. He is also traditionally married to Grace Nakitto, with whom he has several children.
The ceremony marks a new chapter in Lubega’s personal life, drawing public attention to one of Kampala’s most talked-about businessmen.
