Relatives of the late Tadeo Ssekadde, the founding director of King David Junior School, are reportedly in shock after details of his will emerged, revealing how his multi-billion-shilling estate will be distributed and leaving some family members dissatisfied with their inheritance.
According to information obtained by this publication, Ssekadde prepared a will before his death outlining how his assets should be managed in the event of his passing.
Under the will, his wife, Prossy Ssekadde, was appointed the principal beneficiary and administrator of several key assets. She was granted control of the family’s three bank accounts containing millions of shillings in savings, although she is required to manage the funds in consultation with the couple’s elder children.
The will also gives Prossy ownership of the family’s mansion in Ndejje, with a directive that all of Ssekadde’s children—including those from his first marriage—must be welcomed and allowed to live or visit the home without discrimination or eviction.

His eldest son, David Ssekadde, is said to have repeatedly turned down invitations to join the family’s businesses. The late businessman reportedly established a men’s suits business for him in downtown Kampala, but it later collapsed. Ssekadde subsequently set up an electronics shop for him, which David currently operates.
His elder daughter, Gorret Ssekadde, reportedly opted to pursue self-employment rather than joining the family business empire, a decision that allegedly strained her relationship with her father. She also reportedly declined to relocate to the family’s new residence in Ndejje, choosing instead to remain at the old home after it had been converted into rental units.

Another son, Joel Ssekadde, also allegedly declined to work in the family businesses. According to family sources, Ssekadde believed Joel preferred pursuing quick financial gains instead of building the enterprises through hard work.
The sources contend that these experiences influenced Ssekadde’s decision to entrust the bulk of his estate and the management of his businesses to his wife and sister, whom he considered committed partners in developing his investments.
Tadeo Ssekadde died in a tragic road accident in Kapchorwa while on a school trip with students, bringing to an end the life of an education entrepreneur whose institutions educated thousands of learners. His death was widely mourned across the education sector.
