The Magistrate Court in Iganga district has remanded a 40-year-old man for allegedly defiling his eight-year-old daughter.
The suspect, Magino Richard, was today arraigned before Iganga Grade One Magistrate, Tibenkana Ali for mention of his case.
According to prosecution, the suspect is accused of defiling his biological eight-year-old daughter. Magino is said to have committed the offence from his home located at Igulusa village in the Nakalama sub-county.
It is alleged that the suspect has been staying with his daughter at home after separating with his wife, and the matter came to light last week after locals noticed that the girl had difficulties in walking.

The child whose private parts were reportedly swollen told residents that his father had defiled her multiple times in their house.
Magistrate Tibenkana denied Magino chance to take any plea, saying that the case he is being accused of is capital in nature which can only be tried in High Court.
He remanded him to Iganga Government Prison up to October 28, 2026, when he will be taken back to court for mention of his case. The investigations into the case are currently ongoing.
