The Old Students Association of Serere Secondary School has expressed deep sorrow and outrage following the tragic killing of a Senior Four student, allegedly by her boyfriend, in an incident that has shocked the school and surrounding community.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the association’s chairperson, Mr. Olaboro Emmanuel, condemned the act as “cruel, barbaric and inhuman,” stressing that no disagreement can justify taking another person’s life.
“We received the shocking news with deep sadness about the brutal killing of a Serere SS S4 student. As old students of this great institution, we strongly condemn this act and call upon the relevant authorities to conduct thorough investigations to ensure justice is served,” the statement read in part.

“This is a critical time for students to focus on their academics, build strong character and prepare for a better tomorrow,” the statement noted, adding that discipline and responsible decision-making are key to personal growth.
The association also encouraged young people to embrace moral and spiritual guidance, urging them to uphold values such as respect for life, love, and wisdom.
To the bereaved family and affected community, the Old Students Association extended condolences and called for calm and unity during this difficult time.
“We appeal for peaceful engagement and meaningful dialogue among the clans involved so that harmony and coexistence may prevail,” the statement added.
The association concluded by praying for the repose of the deceased student’s soul and strength for those mourning her loss.
