Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson SP Racheal Kawala said investigations had commenced, with efforts underway to identify, trace and arrest the suspects.
The deceased has been identified as Ssekandi Edirisa, a resident of Manja Cell.
According to preliminary police information, the incident occurred at about 11:00pm on October 10, 2026, shortly after Ssekandi and his wife and son left their workplace in Kiteemu Trading Centre.
The family was travelling in a Subaru Forester, registration number UA 401DN, heading to their home in Manja.
Police said the assailants attacked the family upon arrival at their gate and shot Ssekandi, who died instantly.

The motive for the shooting and the identities of the attackers had not been established by the time of publication.
