The Inspector General of Government (IGG), Lady Justice Naluzze Aisha Batala, has honoured an outstanding graduate of the Law Development Centre (LDC), Ms. Lillian Binoga, for her exceptional performance in Trial Advocacy during the institution’s 53rd graduation ceremony.

Binoga received a plaque and a cash prize after scoring an impressive 90 percent in Trial Advocacy on the Bar Course for the 2024/2025 academic year, emerging among the best-performing students in the discipline.

The recognition came as more than 1,500 graduands were awarded various qualifications at the ceremony held by the Law Development Centre.

The award was presented on behalf of the IGG by Hilda Talibba, the Director of Legal Affairs at the Inspectorate of Government.

According to the Inspectorate of Government, the annual award is part of a longstanding partnership with the Law Development Centre aimed at nurturing highly skilled legal practitioners who are committed to upholding constitutionalism, justice and the rule of law.

The initiative is intended to encourage excellence in legal education and strengthen efforts to promote transparency, accountability and ethical leadership within Uganda’s justice system.

Officials said the recognition also reflects the Inspectorate’s broader commitment to supporting the development of legal professionals capable of safeguarding constitutional values and ensuring access to justice for all Ugandans.

The collaboration between the Inspectorate of Government and the Law Development Centre has, over the years, played a significant role in shaping a new generation of advocates equipped to advance the country’s legal and governance agenda.

By rewarding academic excellence in Trial Advocacy, the Inspectorate hopes to inspire more students to pursue professionalism and integrity in the legal profession, which remains central to the promotion of justice and good governance in Uganda.
