The Inspector General of Police (IGP) has announced a major reshuffle affecting 178 senior police officers in one of the most significant deployments in recent years, as the Uganda Police Force intensifies efforts to restore security across the country.

The transfers affect officers from the ranks of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) and Superintendent of Police (SP), with several Regional Police Commanders (RPCs), district commanders and deputy commanders reassigned to new duty stations.

According to the reshuffle, the changes coincide with the ongoing restructuring of security deployment at Parliament, where the number of police officers attached to the institution has been significantly reduced as part of broader institutional reforms.
