Indian National Shot Dead Inside Bank at Raja Chambers
The business community in Kampala City Centre on Friday afternoon was shocked following the shooting of an Indian National. The incident is reported to have happened at Raja Chambers on Parliamentary Avenue.
Eyewitnesses say that they saw a man dressed in Police Uniform shooting an Indian National.
The deceased, who is only identified as Utam is said to have been one of the top money lenders in Kampala.
The gruesome murder happened inside Yako Bank which is located on Raja Chambers on Parliamentary Avenue, a few meters from the Parliament of Uganda.
According to the preliminary reports, the victim is a brother to Raj, a popular money lender in Kampala City. The Police cordoned off the scene of crime as the hunt for the assailant kicked off.
This incident comes a few days from Saturday May 6, when an unidentified assailant shot dead the president of the bloggers in Uganda, Isma Olaxes a.k.a Jajja Iculi from his home at Kyanja. Police have arrested over three suspects in connection to Olaxes’ murder including his driver who is identified as Wasswa.
Also the State Minister for Labour, Rtd. Col. Charles Okello Engola was also shot by his bodyguard Wilson Sabiiti and he later shot himself.
