As commitment to upholding discipline, integrity and fair play in all sports competitions, the Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) has expelled Jinja Progressive Academy (JIPRA) from the ongoing 2025 Under-20 National Boys’ Football Championship hosted at Ngora High School.
The disciplinary action follows serious violations during and after the semi-final match between JIPRA and St. Mary’s Boarding Secondary School Kitende on May 13, 2025, where the former exhibited gross unacceptable indiscipline, inciting the National Organizing Committee (NOC) to conduct an investigation which came to the conclusion.
The committee’s investigation revealed a number of anomalies and found JIPRA guilty of :
- Fielding ineligible players, Isabirye Adrian and Ntege Musa, both of whom had accumulated two yellow cards in earlier games.
- Engaging in violent conduct, including the assault of match officials and incitement of crowd violence, which is a breach of USSSA Rules 8.1 and 8.2.
- As a result, the following sanctions have been imposed:
-Forfeiture of the semi-final match;
-Immediate expulsion from the championship and
-immediate eviction from the games village and surrounding areas in Ngora district.
According to the NOC, further disciplinary action against the culpable school will be communicated after briefing the Ministry of Education and Sports.
Once again, USSSA expressed commitment to upholding discipline, integrity, and fair play in all its competitions.
