The Police in Kanungu District are hunting for a casual labourer who is on the run after allegedly chopping off his employer’s hand following a dispute over charcoal sales.

The suspect, identified as Brain, had been hired to burn charcoal belonging to his boss, Eriabu Aineplani, a resident of Omukibaare Village in Kayungwe sub-county. It is alleged that Brain had been secretly selling part of the charcoal without his employer’s knowledge.

When Aineplani confronted him over the alleged theft, a confrontation ensued, during which Brain reportedly grabbed a panga and cut off his boss’ hand.

The victim was rushed to the hospital for quick medical attention as the search for the suspect was launched.
