The Minister of Local Government, Raphael Magyezi, has directed Bushenyi District Chairperson Jafari Basajjabalaba to nominate a new District Service Commission (DSC) by April 24, in line with legal procedures and established guidelines.
In his directive, Magyezi emphasized that the chairperson is expected to exercise the responsibility with the highest level of integrity and transparency, given the importance of the commission in public service recruitment and administration.
The directive comes months after the previous DSC nomination process in Bushenyi was rocked by corruption allegations, prompting intervention from the State House Anti-Corruption Unit. The unit later arrested three suspects, while others implicated in the scandal reportedly went into hiding.
