Tears of joy flowed down the cheeks of the parents and relatives of a two-year-old Christopher Asoya who had been declared dead at the hands of his abductor, Sadik Kizito who demanded a sh20m ransom to return the baby.
After media reports with a picture of young Asoya being announced as having been killed by Kizito, the 30-year-old Meddie Ssenfuka, a resident of Katooke A, appeared with the baby whom he had picked loitering in the road, with motorists striving to avoid running him over, after he allegedly escaped from his abductor.
Ssenfuka took the boy to Kawempe police, who gave him authority to continue keeping him as they identified the parents.
