The State House Anti-corruption Unit together with the Crime Investigating Department have today arraigned before the Anti-corruption court two officials of Obongi district Local Government and charged them with abuse of office and embezzlement.
The suspects include; the Senior Human Resource Officer Rasul Burhan Gobe and the then Ag. Chief Finance Officer Adaku Alfred.
Court heard that the duo, together with the Chief Administrative Officer, who is still at large, in abuse of their authority embezzled over sh100m by irregularly making over payments to pensioners and existing salary earners in the district, after which they would demand for a refund of the over paid amount.
After commencement of the investigations, all the money was recovered and paid to the recovery account of government. #ExposeTheCorrupt
