The Archbishop of the Province of the Church of Uganda, Rt. Rev. Dr. Stephen Samuel Kazimba Mugalu has implored government to prevail on investors to prioritize job creation for Ugandans as a means of averting the inhuman torture meted to Ugandans working in the diaspora.

Dr. Kazimba also urged government to impress upon companies sending Ugandans to work abroad, to bear the responsibility of maintaining close relationship with them and their families in a bid to keep comforting and encouraging Ugandans abroad especially women who are subjected to more torture than men.

He noted that it is very embarrassing that although these companies take a big share of these poor girls’ meagre salaries, they have not reciprocated by following them up as they suffer at the hands of Arabs assaulting, raping and subjecting them to all forms of inhuman treatment.

The Archbishop was on Saturday addressing a gathering of friends, well-wishers, teachers and parents that turned up at celebrations marking the tenth anniversary of Njovu Junior School located at Nansana-Wamala in Wakiso district, where he also commissioned a school block named after him.

“By looking on as these companies, some unregistered, take Ugandans abroad and in a thieving manner fleece them of their salaries, we seem to be condoning these acts subjected to our fellow countrymen,” he noted.

The visibly angry prelate noted that nobody can feign ignorance of what is happening to Ugandan girls especially in the Arab countries because, he observed, social media outlets are awash with video recordings of these incidents.

He did not spare women applying cosmetics to tan their complexions and dye their grey hair, saying this is in direct contradiction to nature’s arrangement. “And you don’t have the capacity to change your complexion and hair permanently which means the true nature of your body and hair will return when you run out of money,” he added.

Turning to men, Kazimba advised them not to go for DNA tests when in doubt about paternity of their children, and instead emulate Joseph, Jesus’ earthly father, who never sought DNA services.

He also gave them the advice of continuing to provide for the children under their care, trusting that one day, God will offer an answer to their problem.

The school Director, Gerard Batte urged believers to always trust God to execute their work for them, by being submissive to His might. He concurred with biblical teachings that God lifts men who follow Him from dust to high places.

Explaining, Batte said, “I rose from very humble beginnings in a remote village but all along I trusted God and he answered by bringing me this far”.

The Njovu (elephant) clan head Omutaka Mukalo Dr. Ssalongo Sylvester Ssessanga appealed to clan members to take a leaf from Batte and work hard to be able to uplift their own standards and their clan.
