“On 7 May 2026, our intelligence teams successfully apprehended the two suspects linked to the Bank of Uganda break-in,” Kituuma stated.

Police have apprehended two suspects believed to be involved in the recent break-in at the Bank of Uganda. The incident, which occurred on 4 May 2026, prompted a swift investigation by intelligence teams, resulting in the arrests.

According to Police Spokesperson Rusoke Kituuma, the suspects have been identified as 19-year-old Kule Boaz Michael from Wabigalo and Kabuye Ramadhan, also known as Rhama, from Nsambya Zone C, both in Kampala City.

“On 7 May 2026, our intelligence teams successfully apprehended the two suspects linked to the Bank of Uganda break-in,” Kituuma stated. “Two stolen laptops have also been recovered, and the suspects are currently in police custody. They will be arraigned in court in due course.”

Authorities are continuing investigations to determine whether more individuals were involved in the incident. The Bank of Uganda has assured the public that measures are being strengthened to prevent similar security breaches in the future.
