Daudi Kabanda, the outspoken Member of Parliament for Kasambya County, has mysteriously gone silent on social media platform X, formerly Twitter, shortly after the release of the new cabinet by the Presidential Press Unit
In the weeks leading up to the Speakership contest and cabinet reshuffle, Kabanda had become one of the most active political voices online, using his X account to issue bold statements directed at several influential political figures.
Serving as Secretary General of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), Kabanda played a central role in shaping political conversations ahead of the Speakership race. He notably delivered a message backing Jacob Oboth-Oboth for the Speaker position on behalf of Muhoozi Kainerugaba, who also chairs PLU.

Meanwhile, some of the politicians he had publicly disagreed with online were among those rewarded with ministerial appointments. Chris Baryomunsi was named Minister of Health, while Justine Nameere received her first cabinet role as Minister of State for Local Government under Balaam Barugahara.
By the time of publication, visitors attempting to access Kabanda’s once-active X account, @DaudiKabanda, were instead met with the message: “This account does not exist.”
