Sheebah explained that although medical professionals recommended that she take time off to recover, she felt compelled to fulfill obligations she considered too important to ignore.

Ugandan music star Sheebah Karungi has revealed that she recently underwent surgery in India after battling a childbirth-related health condition for more than a year and a half, shedding light on the personal challenges she has faced away from the public eye.

The singer shared the emotional revelation on her X account, explaining that despite doctors advising her to rest after the operation, she returned to Uganda and headed straight to court the very next day to attend proceedings in an ongoing legal battle with her former manager, Jeff Kiwa.

“After a year and a half of struggling with a condition caused by childbirth, I finally had to travel to India for surgery, then straight back home and into court the next day,” Sheebah wrote.

The award-winning artiste said many people often see celebrities through headlines, photographs and public appearances without understanding the personal sacrifices and hardships they endure behind the scenes.

“Sometimes people see the headlines, the photos, the appearances, but they don’t see what it takes to keep showing up,” she said.

Sheebah explained that although medical professionals recommended that she take time off to recover, she felt compelled to fulfill obligations she considered too important to ignore.

“I was advised to rest but some responsibilities cannot be postponed and some battles are too important to walk away from. So I showed up,” she added.

The singer is currently embroiled in a High Court legal dispute with her former manager, Jeff Kiwa of Team No Sleep (TNS). The case, Civil Suit No. 0077 of 2026, centers on the ownership and monetization rights of Sheebah’s music catalog, a dispute that could have significant implications for both parties.

In her heartfelt message, Sheebah paid tribute to her mother, family and close team members, saying they have stood by her throughout one of the most difficult chapters of her life.

“That’s why you see my mother, my family, and my team standing beside me. They have witnessed this journey firsthand. They know the pain, the challenges, the hospital visits, the difficult days, and everything it took for me to get to this point,” she wrote.

According to the singer, their presence in court was not merely a show of support for a legal battle but a reflection of the personal struggle they had witnessed over the past months.

“Their presence wasn’t just support for a court appearance; it was support for someone they have watched fight through one of the most challenging periods of her life,” she said.

Beyond sharing her experience, Sheebah used the moment to encourage her followers to persevere through adversity, expressing gratitude to God for helping her overcome difficult circumstances.

“Keep going. Keep believing. Keep fighting for what is yours. One day you’ll look back and realize that your toughest moments revealed your greatest strength,” she wrote.

She concluded the message with a note of faith and gratitude: “Alhamdulillah, always. #GodAboveAll.”

The revelation has sparked an outpouring of support from fans and fellow entertainers, many praising the singer for her resilience as she balances motherhood, recovery and a high-profile legal battle that continues to draw public attention.
